I can't think of a good title for this post

My thoughts through-out this Tuesday:

>I still haven't seen Twilight...
I'm waiting till Thursday when Chelsea gets into town

>I really want to learn to Salsa...I know some of the basics, but thats not enough! I just heard this song and I have a pretty sweet dance choreographed in my head...yeah folks, in my HEAD and that's probably where it's going to stay!

>I wish I would of kept up with learning the piano...I really want to play Diary of Jane right now

>*Me talking to myself while getting ready this morning*
"C'mon hair...why won't you curl!" I have very fickle hair...it only does what it wants to do

>Thanksgiving is in two days...I have so much to do!

>I've listen to Decode by Paramore almost 11 times since 11am...

>I should probably pratice my songs a bit today and tune my violin...and maybe find some killer songs to learn!

>I really want the Jane Eyre, Dracula, Light in the Piazza, and Oklahoma soundtracks...

Hm...welcome to my head
=)

I took this picture on Sunday while I was babysitting...I love these kids so much! They have the best imaginations! I love that about children. I love to listen to their stories (whether they are true or not) and see what they come up with! It is so fascinating!

5 days!?

Wow...I just realized that there is only 5 days till Thanksgiving!!
I can't wait! This year we are having around 50 people...yeah it's a lot but that's how it always is! We always play corn hole, dance, eat, dance some more, and eat a lot more! Then the kids stay up all night and hit up either Best Buy or Wal-Mart at 4am for Black Friday!
I actually have to be at work at 9 am that day, so we will see if I make it for all the festivites of BF.
Chelsea is coming on Thursday to spend Thanksgiving with us and to hang out in Gainesville for the weekend. I told her she needed to come and hang out before I moved in January and this weekend seemed to be perfect. I can't wait! It's going to be so much fun!

So I need ya'll to be praying for me...I got a job at PacSun and I've been scheduled to work a lot, but the way they do it is I have to call in an hour before my scheduled time to see if they need me. The past two times I have been scheduled they haven't needed me. So here I sit...wishing I was at work.
But thankfully I have been babysitting a lot and I put some stuff on eBay...so hopefully I will get some income so that I can buy Christmas presents!!

Well I hope and pray that everyone is having a fantastic weekend!
~Love&Peace~

Miles Away From Those I Love

When I move in January I will be able to see these girls ALL THE TIME!! Ah...sheer bliss!

I am so excited to get to know all of the Daytona & Titusville girls (since I hear they do a lot with that chuch). It is going to be a wonderful beginning of a new season of life and I am so looking forward to it!

Of course I will still miss my family and friends here. They will never ever leave my heart and it is going to be really different not seeing them all the time. I have been so blessed to have them in my life during these past 11 years and I am so grateful for Soverign Grace Ministries and that I will be able to see them a lot during the year!

Faith

But this I call to mind

And therefore I have hope

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases

His mercies never come to an end

They are new every morning

Great is your faithfulness

The Lord is my portions, says my soul

Therefore I will hope in him

The Lord is good to those who wait for him

To the soul who seeks him

It is good that one should wait quietly

For the salvation of the Lord

Psalm 61: Lead Me To The Rock

When you look at a rock, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

- Bulky? Smooth? Shiny? Massive?

The dictionary says: a large mass of stone forming a hill, cliff, promontory, or the like

Descriptions of a rock can go from one extreme to the next because there are so many various types of them.
But What a Rock (the Rock) represents is something that is solid, stable, permanent, unchanging, protective, strong, and sheltering.

The past couple weeks our church as been doing a study called "Our Rock in Troubled Times" and how we need to press into and lean on God our Rock! HE is always Solid, Stable, Permanent, Unchanging, Protective, Strong, and Sheltering!! This is what God will always be!

Psalm 61 says...

"Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy."

"the Rock" in the Old Testament can mean a massive boulder or cliff/cleft in a mountain. This term is used a lot in the OT to describe who God is and the strength found in Him.

These quotes from Sunday's message really spoke to my heart and gave me such encouragment:

"Here's the hope for every weary traveler whose feet are tired of the slippery instability of mud of a fallen world. Your weariness is a signpost. It's meant to cause you to cry out for help. It's meant to cause you to quit looking for your stability and begin to cry out for it vertically. It's meant to put an end to your belief that situations, people, locations, possessions, positions, or answers will satisfy the longing of your heart. You weariness is meant to drive you to God. He's the Rock for which you're longing. He's the one who alone is able to give to you the sense that all is well. And as you abandon your hope in the mirage rocks of this fallen world, and begin to hunger for the True Rock, he'll reach out and place you on solid ground." Paul Tripp

&

"There is a Rock to be found. There is an inner rest to be experienced that's deeper than conceptual understanding, human love, personal success, and the accumulation of possessions. There is a rock that will give you rest even when all of those things have been taken away. That rock is Christ and you were hardwired to find what you are seeking in Him. In His grace, He won't play hide and seek with you. In your weakness and weariness, cry out to Him, cry out to Him. He will find you and He will be your Rock." Paul Tripp

This past month has been really hard and I have been having to learn to lean on God through this time in my life. But Phil said something yesterday that struck me, "These troubled times are equipping us to help/serve others that are going through similar situations."
I pray when that time comes that God will give me the words to encourage those individuals.

I leave you with a song from the new "Come Weary Saints" cd...

There is a Rock thats weathered every storm
Standing firm through the ages
A shelter for the battered, bruised, and worn
You're our help and our Savior
You have always been faithful
You will always be good
You'll never let me go
I'll never be alone
You have always been faithful

I have a new toy! =)

So I found this web-site that let's you edit your photos...it's kinda like Photoshop, but it's called Picnik.com...ya'll should check it out!

Anyways I've been messing around with a lot of my photos and I remembered that I had taken some of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse over spring break and I decided to make a collage with another pictue and some song lyrics...I absolutely love how it came out!!

I have Orientation tomorrow at UCF in Daytona...it's at 2:30p. So if ya'll could be praying for me as I travel over there and as I go through that whole process. I'm kinda nervous, but it's just because it's a new chapter of my life! I'm staying over in Daytona so I'll get to see my friends tomorrow night and stay up all night with them! =) I can't wait!!

Pray for Obama!!

I was reading my Bible today and I came across this verse that I thought applied to every Christian and what we are to do for those who don't believe in Jesus: we are to constantly PRAY for them!!

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

1 Timothy 2:1-4

I am very excited that I lived to see an African-American become President of the U.S. . I know that these next four years are going to be difficult, not only for us, but for Obama. But I know that God is in control ALL the time! "For I know the plans I have for you, Declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you..." (Jer. 20:11).
We as Christians must, absolutely must PRAY for OUR President!!! And not just our President...but for the Vice-President...the House, the Senate, and everyone else that is in authority! It is our duty as Christians to pray for the lost and to share the Gospel with the lost so that we may plant seeds and lead the lost to Christ Jesus!

Love to all of you!!

It's amazing to think...

I will only be a Gainesville resident for another 2 months! I don't know when in January but classes start on the 12th, so maybe the first weekend? But I'll get all those details soon...

I have Orientation on Wednesday...but I probably won't be able to register for classes right away because I didn't know I was supposed to send in a proof of immunization form. That delays the process somehow...but I just hope I'll be able to get the classes I need. I am going to take summer classes too, so we'll see what happens.
I am just so excited!! I can't believe that this is happening and I am so grateful that God allowed me to get in!! Ah, God is good!

I had an interview yesterday with PacSun...I really hope I get the job there! It would only be a seasonal job but at least I would be working! The hospital has already cut my hours...but I will be giving my two weeks notice sometime next week. I'm still in training and I probably will still be when I leave...so after praying about it I'm just going to stop so that the hospital isn't wasting money on my training when I won't be working there anyways.

I would ask that you guys be praying for me...I am going to have a really hard time financially when I move and I am hoping that I am able to get a job right away when I get to Daytona. My parents are not going to be able to help me as much as they would want to and I know that is really hard on them. But I have faith that God will provide and that he will bring the finances that I need to get through my first semester there.

So I will try and up-date as much as I can...but I leave you with this!!

"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
- Isaiah 40:28-31
